An energetic contra dance band from Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle, the Free Raisins fuse New England roots with a modern groove. They promise a versatile mix of supremely danceable tunes—come out and get your two scoops worth! The Free Raisins are Audrey Knuth on fiddle, Jeff Kaufman on mandolin, brass, and feet, and Amy Englesberg on piano and accordion.
Hailing from New England, Nova weaves the sounds of Kathleen Fownes' fiery fiddling, Guillaume Sparrow-Pepin's dynamic accordion and piano, and Everest Witman's energetic guitar and foot percussion into a rich tapestry of sound. Nova draws from both traditional repertoire and original compositions to create versatile, high energy, driving contra dance music.
